Leadership Team Update

Dear Trinity Lutheran Family,

It has been a long 6 months as we have faced unprecedented times in our lives. With our inability to meet both as a leadership team and with our congregation, I wanted to take some time to give you some updates.

  • First, our Constitution Committee is happy to announce that in late March we received back from District an approved Constitution with a few changes that we had resubmitted based off their first review. Without a lot of detail, the changes are very minor. Our next step to complete this process, is when we are able to gather, will be to have an official Voters meeting and present the approved Constitution for you to review and approve. The Constitution would be published two weeks in advance of the meeting to allow enough time for your review, prepare questions and attend the Voters meeting for final approval.

  • This year would have been an election year for our congregation. With the timing of COVID-19 we were unable to proceed with the process as outlined in our Constitution. In a special meeting of the PPC, it was presented and passed that we would ask all existing officers and those holding board positions to remain on for one additional year. All agreed and our plans will be to proceed with nominations and a selection of officers for your consideration next Spring 2021.

  • Financially, we have been stable especially with the assistance that we applied for and received. This assistance helped in covering payroll and some other qualified expenses. Monthly giving has been fair, but we have had to draw on some of our reserve resources to cover expenses. Many of you may or may not know that Glenn Wedin was called to his Heavenly Home. In his absence Doreen Eady has stepped up and given us stability managing our accounting responsibilities. Doreen has also had a lot of support from Mike Scott and Donna Haggerty.

  • Much thanks needs to be extended to Pastor, Nate and our Elders for their huge efforts in providing us with daily devotions and our Sunday worship, both on-line and most recently in person. Many others continue to assist with the details required to have our Sunday worship in person. Those of you that are able to attend have seen our members in action. What a blessing they have all been!!

Hopefully in the next two to three months we will be over this pandemic and will be able to find things somewhat normal. My prayer is that all are safe and doing well.

God Bless our Trinity Family,

Dave Parrish
